2nd ProSES Symposium 2021
1 december 2021 | Virtual conference
Roles of Process Systems Engineering for Sustainability
Proses Systems Engineering and Safety (ProSES) is a biennial conference organised by Process Systems Engineering & Safety (ProSES) Research Group, Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. ProSES Research Group has previously organised 1st ProSES Symposium in 2019. It is our pleasure to announce the 2nd ProSES Symposium which will be held virtually on 1st December 2021. The theme of the symposium for this year is "Roles of process systems engineering for sustainability".
Sustainability surrounds three main pillars namely environmental, economic and social which aims to achieve balance and regain harmony with nature. The terms sustainable development stems from the earlier concepts based on the similarities between biological and industrial systems. Process System Engineering (PSE) is one of the subdiscipline in chemical engineering, that centres around the advancement of process design, product design, and process dynamics and control, all of which may impact positively towards sustainability. Multidisciplinary achievements by the PSE community offer a realistic prospect for sustainable development by the improvement in environmental conditions and health, and simultaneously in production processes by improvements and the savings in resources, energy and costs.
In this one-day symposium, 2nd ProSES Symposium 2021 serves as platform for academicians, researchers, scientist, practitioners, and students to generate and present new ideas in related fields. The conference also aims to gather intellectuals from various fields to share the knowledge and discuss the recent trends and current issues in the fields of modelling and simulation, process control and optimization related to chemical engineering. Aside from that, the symposium will serve as a great opportunity to initiate research collaboration network among participants with similar research interests from around the world.
ProSES Symposium is focuses on the use of computer aided tools for modelling and simulation work as well as process safety particularly in chemical, biological, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and mineral processes.

One day workshop
Beginners Workshop on Python & Data Science in Process Engineering
CC-SISPI with collaboration with IEEERAS in conjunction with ProSES ‘21 Symposium will organize a 1 Day workshop on Python and Data Science in Process Engineering. This workshop covers Python basic programming from installation, debugging, variables to plotting followed by basics of data science. It is designed to suit those who do not have any programming experience. The workshop includes interactive exercises and the use of a hands-on lab kit to enhance participants' understanding and experience.
