Call for papers
5th Rural Development Conference [RDC2021] accepts the following types of submissions:
Proposals are accepted on a rolling admission basis as long as space is available or by June 20th 2021 at latest and are to be be submitted along with application form. All submissions will be peer reviewed and acceptance/rejections is based on their relevance to the conference topics, as well as professional and personal background of the applicant, in order to ensure a dynamic and diverse learning environment. Admission decisions are made on a rolling admission basis, within 7 days after the application has been submitted. Admission may close earlier than the date stated above if space in the conference fills up.
- Research Papers: Completed research papers in any of the topic areas listed bellow or related areas.
- Abstracts: Abstracts of completed or proposed research in any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas. The abstract for proposed research should include the research objectives, proposed methodology, and a discussion of expected outcomes.
- Student Papers: Research done by students in any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas.
- Case Studies: Case studies in any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas.
- Work-in-Progress Reports or Proposals for Future Research: Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of related areas.
- Reports on Issues Related to rural development: Reports related to innovative techniques or research related to any of the topic areas listed bellow or related areas.

Presentations:
The following presentation formats will be possible at the conference:
- Video presentation: Live and pre-recorded, both available for extended period of time for questions and discussions
- Poster presentation: Posters are exhibited in the virtual exhibition room and available for questions and discussions
- Panel discussion: Propose a panelist and a theme for live discussion
RDC2021 SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE:
Prof. Ana Cristina García-Luna Romero investigates the production and perception of the public space and housing from an interdisciplinary approach to establish environmental criteria in the design and construction of the city. Professor at the University of Monterrey in the Department of Architecture where she has also been in the Chair of the Department of Interior Design.
She has lived, studied and worked in the United States, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Mexico. Because of her interest among the field of realization of forms and space, aesthetics and product engineering, has postgraduate studies related to construction management as well as in architecture and sustainability. Currently she is working on her doctoral thesis. In her professional career has over ten years of practice where she has worked either with national and international architects and designers. Cristy combines her interest in architecture, design and urban sociology with her passion for travel around the world by offering consulting and training in different countries. |
Dr. Manukonda Srinivas is an Indian Agricultural Scientist who is expertise in research and transfer of technology of Rice Agronomy, farming systems and cropping systems research. He created awareness on technological knowhow to several thousands of farmers, students, government officials and private organizations on rice production technologies.
His motive is to encourage budding researchers and progressive farmers towards economically viable and practically feasible technologies in the field of Agricultural Sciences. He is very strong in development and release of new rice varieties and Agro-techniques in major crops grown in India. He is member for many scientific societies and successfully organized several conferences at National and international level. He developed and designed new courses for agronomy discipline for the benefit of students. |
Dr. Blessing Anyikwa is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is an expert in Adult Literacy and Non-Formal Education, with special interest in Community Learning /Education as well as Educational provisions for Disadvantaged Groups such as Women and Girl drop outs, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Migrants. Her interest and involvement precipitated her position as the University of Lagos Chapter Coordinator for African World Documentary Film Festival (AWDFF) at San Diego, California where she also served as a visiting lecturer . She has served as consultant to National Commission of Mass literacy, adult and non-formal education (NMEC), UNESCO Nigeria and Federal Ministry of Education Nigeria.
Dr Anyikwa has 50 publications in reputable national and international journals. She is currently the coordinator for the literacy center at the University of Lagos. |
Dr. Muhammad Israr has a broad interdisciplinary background on sustainable rural development, focused on its livelihoods diversification, sustainable development goals and policy dimensions, with a particular interest in themes of sustainable rural development, food security, renewable energy, value chains, and in linking international and domestic spheres of policy and governance. Dr. Israr education includes: Master’s and PhD (2006 and 2010) in Rural Development and Post Doc. Sustainable rural development in 2016 from the University of Queensland Australia.
His expertise is in quantitative and qualitative social science frameworks (e.g. rural development analysis of policy instruments and policy coherence; participation and governance; agency and stakeholder analysis, etc.) and methods (case study comparisons, in-depth interviews, focus groups). That is combined with wide fieldwork experience. He has done consultancy work in UN Habitat on indigenous land housing policy, urban planning and completed so many education and academic oriented research projects related to sustainable rural development. |
Dr. Farhana Nargis is a Research Fellow at Institute for Inclusive Finance and Development (InM), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She obtained her MS in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh in 2008 and Ph. D in Agricultural Economics from Sunchon National University, South Korea. She has wide ranging research and consultancy experience on development issues.
She has been extensively published numerous articles in reputed national and international journals during her young career life. Her principal areas of expertise are Poverty, Impact Analysis, Agricultural Finance, Financial Inclusion, Digital Financial Services, Financial Literacy, Water and Sanitation, Rural Economies, and Human Dignity. She has an excellent field experiences with farmers, rural households and rural microenterprises in developed and developing countries. |

Conference proceedings
Papers presented at the conference will be published in the official ISBN conference proceedings publication, if submitted by deadline and in the requested format.
In order to have your paper published in the official conference proceedings, your submission should have been previously approved and registration arrangements completed.
Participants who have completed registration arrangements and wish their paper published in the official conference proceedings publication must submit their paper and/or abstract by July 5th 2021.
