Please note, although all those who have submitted a paper to the Conference are invited to present their work, only papers accepted by the Reviewers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

Welcome

We are pleased to announce the 2nd International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems and Control (CPS&C’2021) which will be held from 29 June to 2 July 2021 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The CPS&C’2021 Conference is partially funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation as part of the World-Class Research Center program: Advanced Digital Technologies (contract No. 075-15-2020-934 dated 17.11.2020).

The Conference draws upon the experience of our previous research events that focused on information technologies, systems analysis, engineering and control and were hosted by Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in partnership with leading European and Russian academic institutions. Among others, these events included: the International Conference on System Analysis in Engineering and Control (since 1998), the Distributed Intelligent Systems and Technologies Workshop (since 2008), the International Scientific Symposium on Automated Systems and Technologies (since 2014), the International Conference on Network Cooperation in Science, Industry and Education.

The first International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems and Control (CPS&C'2019) was held in 2019 in St. Petersburg and attracted a large number of participants. The conference proceedings were published by Springer, and were indexed in Scopus.

We consider cyber-physical systems as a new and rapidly emerging generation of systems with integrated wide computational, information processing and physical capabilities that can interact with humans through many new modalities and application areas of implementation.

The 2nd International Conference (CPS&C’2021) is planned to be held both in online virtual and in-person modes, and the participants will be able to choose their preference at the point of registration. The CPS&C’2021 is expected to be an important forum for scientists and engineers to share the latest advances, developments and achievements in new theories, algorithms, models, and applications of prospective problems associated with cyber-physical systems with an emphasis on control theory and related areas. Our aim is to bring together researchers, practitioners and technologists from all over the world and to discuss and disseminate multidisciplinary fundamental scientific and engineering principles that underpin the integration of cyber and physical elements across all application areas.

The CPS&C'2021 Conference will include keynote and plenary talks, sessions and discussions. All accepted full papers will be published in a Scopus-indexed book of Conference Proceedings, based on the experience of the CPS&C'2019 Conference. In addition, a subset of papers will be selected for further substantial extension and modification. Such modified and extended papers could then be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed journals.

The Conference attendees will have the opportunity to discover the magnificent city of St. Petersburg, which is especially beautiful and spectacular during the White Nights in June/July.

We invite you to join the CPS&C'2021 Conference and be a part of our international community. We are looking forward to seeing you at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in the summer of 2021.

Origin, motivation and contribution

All papers should present novel research results of international interest. Papers should cover topics within the scope of the Conference. All papers are thoroughly checked for plagiarism. Acceptable minimum of originality is 90%. Papers should be about 6-10 pages.

All papers must be submitted and presented in English. Please make sure that all equations, tables and illustrations contain text in English. Submissions with poor English may be rejected.

Ethics

The papers submitted for the Conference should be original research manuscripts, never published before and not under consideration for publication in any other conference proceedings (journal etc.). Please read the detailed Elsevier Publication Ethics (Elsevier recommendations and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors). If a paper contains figures or tables taken from other sources, the author must get the reproduction permission from the copyright owners.

Authorship

The recommended maximum number of authors in a single paper is 6. In general, one person should author no more than 2 papers. The corresponding author is the person chosen within the group to be responsible for all contact and correspondence with the Conference organisers. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors (and no inappropriate co-authors) are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agree on its submission for publication.
